Programs
No matter where you are in the aging process, Generations provides programs that can help you or the people you care about.
- Case Management assists seniors 60 years and better who want to stay and live independently in their homes by coordinating various community services to meet their living needs.
- Nutrition & Healthy Living is presented by GenAge Cafés through nutritious and special diet meals in either a congregate or home delivered setting to seniors age 60 years and better. Cafés also provide nutrition education and healthy eating events.
- Senior Internship Program offers job training and job search help to people age 55 and better in eight Iowa counties.
- Family Caregiver Program supports people who are caring for their parents, spouses and others age 60+ or relative children by offering individual counseling, support groups, general information and helpful resources.
- Support Groups meet monthly and provide a time for caregivers to learn, share and support one another as family caregivers or when raising children other than your own.
- Choices Connection encourages and helps anyone prepare an advanced care planning directive for a time when healthcare choices and wishes are unable to be communicated usually resulting from an accident or illness.
- Iowa SMP empowers seniors to prevent Medicare fraud by protecting personal information, reading Medicare summaries and reporting incorrect billing.
- Wellness & Safety information and presentations are available to educate seniors and their caregivers regarding falls prevention, dependent adult abuse and older driver safety.
Even though the programs listed above are a core part of what we do, we are still involved in many other projects that further the mission of our agency. We can provide information and referral to other programs or community services that can help.
Generations is the resource for connecting seniors and caregivers to services.
